Attention all musicians and music lovers! Just this week, AEG Presents Rocky Mountains made a huge announcement that they would be developing a brand new, 60,000-square-foot, 4,000-cap ballroom venue: The Mission Ballroom, set to open in 2019 in north RiNo! While this exciting news may come as a surprise to many, the project has been in the works for about 11 years.

AEG has been hard at work to develop a new state-of-the-art venue to Colorado, and they believe that with it's flexible capacity, sight-lines, and Red Rocks-inspired seating structure, The Mission Ballroom will bring Colorado a cutting edge live music experience! The Mission is just one part of a larger planned effort to transform North Wynkoop into a new entertainment hub, with restaurants, bars, and retail services to come.

CSUSA Discussion: Art Theft During WWII
Screen Shot 2018-03-08 at 2.03.00 PM.png

The central purpose of law is to protect against the violation of human rights. In few instances has this cause been more necessary than against the uncountable human rights violations that took place during World War II. On Holocaust Remembrance Day, in the Wolf Theater at the Mizel Arts and Culture Center, the CSUSA, with the Colorado Bar Association and the University of Denver, will host a retrospective event: Nazi Looted Art: Recovering Masterpieces Stolen During the Holocaust.

Attorney and arbitrator Raymond J. Dowd will lead an overview covering art theft by the Nazi regime during WWII, and with Associate Professor and art scholar Elizabeth Campbell, examine how these acts lead to the creation of looting laws and a years-long effort to return the stolen art back to their rightful owners.

The evening will begin with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at 5:30pm, followed by the event at 6:30.

Velorama Colorado to Return in 2018
---Screen Shot 2018-02-14 at 2.42.03 PM.png

In exciting RiNo news, Velorama Colorado is looking to return strong, August 17-19 of this year! The unique festival boasts three days of music and art capped by an exhilarating pro cycling race, but still has something to prove. After a disappointing inaugural run, Velorama is looking to abolish many of the administrative shortcomings that marred fan, bicyclist and concert-goer experiences last year. This initiative has led to important changes, including a "more than half" as small festival area in order to help patrons find entrances and exits and create a less interfering, more energetic festival space. While this year's headliners ares still being kept under wraps, last year's included Wilco, The New Pornographers and Death Cab for Cutie.
