About David Stone

“I’m always learning from our creative clients. I have a passion for what they do and am inspired by how passionate they are for their work. I’m here to be another tool in their toolbox to help them bring their vision to life.”

David Stone grew up surrounded by art and science. His mother is an artist, and his father is a mathematician, so he inherited a creative spirit tempered by an analytical mind.

David combined his passion for art – and all forms of creative work – as well as his focused and logical mindset into entertainment, intellectual property, and business law, with a commitment to helping creative professionals maximize the value of their work and ensure it is protected from infringement and misappropriation. David never really imagined he could find a place that embraces and marries together that love of creativity, focus, and detail, until he found Creative Law Network.

“Creative professionals are unique, not only in their goals, but in their approach and motivations. At Creative Law Network we really dive into not only the goals of our clients, but their motivations – to understand their vision and goals for their creative practices – and guide them through how the law can be on their side. We strive to show them how legal strategies help them develop, grow, and protect their work.”

Prior to joining Creative Law Network, David worked in the Silicon Valley with a software startup company. This experience provided solid insight into the needs and difficulties facing growing companies, and how law and intellectual property play a crucial role in their success. In law school, he was a part of the Forge Innovation Clinic, an interdisciplinary clinic that brings lawyers, startup companies, and engineers together to help startups launch and grow. These experiences ensured he can ably assist clients with business formation, copyright registration, trademark availability, business contracts, licensing and service agreements, and privacy policies and issues.

David’s clients are not only traditional artists but also creative individuals and entities and include:

  • Film Makers

  • Video Production Companies
