Being your own boss is one of the BEST things about starting your own business. 💯😎
But it doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself! One area that can quickly become overwhelming is the legal side of your biz—filing required documents, operating agreements, vendor agreements, independent contractor agreements, licenses, trademarks, copyrights, and so much more!
Having a supportive, experienced legal team on your side is key. Creative Law Network lawyers are experts in business law and can help you get your legal ducks in a row. Check out our ultimate entrepreneur legal checklist and reach out to us about your specific biz concerns. 👇📩
Cottonwood Institute goes to Denver International Airport! 🖌️🏔🛫
This week's Client Spotlight is on Cottonwood Institute's beautiful 14ers Exhibit at Denver International Airport. Local Denver artist Mike Wilson generously donated his collection of 53 watercolors of all 14ers (peaks over 14,000 feet) in Colorado to help the organization serve its mission. The exhibit runs until September 2024!
Cottonwood Institute is an award-winning non-profit organization working to connect middle and high school students to nature and inspire them to protect it. They collaborate with schools and youth organizations along the Colorado Front Range to provide high-quality, high-impact environmental education and service-learning programs.
Reprints of artworks are available for sale on Cottonwood Institute’s 14ers Artwork Store site and all net proceeds will help fund their programs for students who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to explore the outdoors in Colorado.
Snap a selfie in front of your favorite 14er when you pass by the 14ers Exhibit at DEN, share why you love it, and tag @cottonwoodinstitute and #14ersArtworkDEN for a chance to win a free print at the end of the exhibit!

Does this new federal law apply to individual artists or creative entrepreneurs? The Corporate Transparency Act says that most small businesses, including LLCs, must file information about the company and its owners with the US Department of Treasury.
If you operate a business for your creative work, we can help you comply with this new law. CBCA’s Colorado Attorneys for the Arts (CAFTA) is hosting an informative and interactive webinar (for free!) where Dave will tell you what you need to know and get your questions answered.

You have a LOT of rights when it comes to being the owner of a copyright, we'll call it a bundle of sticks. Have more questions? You know how to reach us!
